Rather than offering medical advice or lifestyle fluff, host Garrison Leykam focuses the conversation on public education grounded in lived experience, expert insight, and cultural context. Each episode features respected researchers, clinicians, and thought leaders whose work directly shapes how we understand aging and independence in the real world.

At the same time, the series explores what aging actually feels like — physically, emotionally, psychologically, and socially. More importantly, it examines what truly helps people remain independent, engaged, and confident as they age. Ultimately, the goal is to inform, empower, and elevate conversations about aging without hype, fear, or oversimplification.

About the Podcast Team

Garrison Leykam is the creator, host and co-producer of Geezers, Gadgets and Gizmos. He holds a PhD in Marketing and a Master’s degree in Psychology. His background spans staff development, leadership training, behavioral health, and public education.

Notably, Garrison is the author of AI Powered Job Hunting, a #1 Amazon New Release, and Heartstrings Across Miles: A Guide to Long Distance Grandparenting featured in AARP Magazine. He is a recognized guest speaker for organizations including the National Association of Social Workers, the New Jersey Community Health Law Project, academic medical institutions, and public health organizations.

Alyson Grisham is co-producer, videographer and editor of Geezers, Gadgets and Gizmos. She’s the founder of Alyson Films, LLC, where she’s shot everything from weddings that look like movie premieres to commercials that made you want to buy three of whatever they were selling. Alyson was an Associate Producer at WWE producing and editing feature packages, wrangling talent, and creating digital content for one of the most-visited entertainment sites on the planet. She also was a production guru at MTV Networks.
